DIY Sweetie Jars and Gift Tags

Hey Guys!

So today it's a DIY! I thought that I would do different ideas for putting sweets in a jar as a little gift for someone special or a birthday. There are many different ways you can do it, however I went for three simple ideas along with a personalised gift tag for an extra special touch.

For this DIY you will need:
  • Three different sized jars,
  • Plain Gift Tags,
  • Pens,
  • Sweets!

1) Malteasers in a mini jar
Fill you small jar with one type of loose sweet such as Malteasers or Skittles. This is a cute little present for someone special or a little gift in general to add a personal touch.

2) Small sweets in a jar
This is a medium sized jar so bars won't fit in here. However sweets like lollipops, Starbursts and Moams are a great size to fit in this type of jar. Maybe make it personal by adding tissue paper to the bottom.

3) Large sweets in a jar
This is a large jar, so for anyone who likes sweets - this is a great present! Fill the jar with as many sweets as you can fit in, including packets of sweets such as Fruit Pastilles or Chocolate Bars. Anything! The choice is up to you...

4) Personalised Gift Tag
Take some plain coloured gift tags and use different coloured pens to add a cute message. This will personalise the gift even more and make it seem more loved.

That was all my three designs. Hope you liked them! Let me know if you try any of them out!

February Favourites

Hey Guys!

I realise that I actually haven't done a favourites for quite a while - maybe I should do one each month? So I thought that as it is the start of March, I would let you know what my favourites have been in the past month. It happens that I actually have quite a few favourites, so sorry for that, but here they are...

MAKEUP

Primark's Ultra Volumising Black Mascara
As always I am still loving this mascara for the effect and volume it gives to your lashes, however after I finish this one, I have decided that I am going to try a different mascara that I haven't tried before, so if there are any recommendations, leave a comment and let me know.

PS Love Lipstick
To be honest, I am not a huge makeup person, and before I try big brands, I wanted to buy a darker shade lipstick to see whether it suited me. I have loved this colour through the winter months and it is a definite lipstick that I will wear for a long time.

SCENT

Zoella - Let's Spritz
I had wanted this perfume for quite a while and I finally got it for Christmas. It has such a lovely smell to it, I don't know whether it is floral or not, but it is quite strong and a lasting smell. It is a lovely fragranced body mist and I would really recommend it.

Superdrug Devotion
This is a new range that Superdrug have bought out and I picked out two random bottles, seeing as I had never tried them. I went for Devotion and Tease, however I think that Devotion is my favourite. It has a scent of Sweet Mandarin and Wild Plum, and is a very strong, bold smell.

MOMENT

Bedroom
Recently it has been allowed that I can have my room redecorated as I have had the same bedroom pretty much all my life. So these past weeks have been exciting but difficult trying to find duvets and curtains and pillows that all match and are the colour I want. However we have got all of these things and it is not time for finding paint!

SONG

Seven Years by Lukas Graham
Recently I have really been liking this song. I find the story behind it is very emotional and has a lot of meaning. Some people find it annoying, but I actually quite like it.

TV PROGRAMME

The Great Interior Design Challenge
I have been loving this programme and have watched it before. I love watching people design houses and rooms, it just makes me feel really creative! It's so interesting.

YOUTUBER

SacconeJolys
They have definately been my favourite youtubers for a little while now. I have been so behind on YouTube, and I just like watching the SacconeJolys as they are so cute and can definitely make you laugh.

SHOP

New Look
I still love New Look and I always will! They do some really nice sales in there as well as some really lovely clothes. Recently I bought a pair of shoes in there for a wedding and they were really nice and a really reasonable price too.

Forever 21
I have really been liking Forever 21 for all the clothes they do and all the accessories. I recently bought a dress from there that was very pretty and again, was a reasonable price. They do some really nice clothes for all occasions.

That's all for last month! There were obviously quite a few! Anyway, hope there was something in there you like too.

Golden Wonder Lush Review

Hey Guys!

I haven't actually done a review on Lush products before, so I though
today I might let you know about the bath bomb I used. It was one of those nights when you can't be bothered and decide you want to have a long bath, and so you need a Lush product to go with it. I had received so many bath bombs during the month of December, and still have loads left over, one of them happening to be the 'Golden Wonder' bath bomb.

Lush describes Golden Wonder as 'A wonder to behold' and to be honest, it is. You expect it to be a sparkly gold colour with white foam, however just like the Star Dust bath bomb, there is an explosion of colours and little enjoyments...

As you expect, it starts off a goldy, yellow colour, but it doesn't stay like that. It starts to turn into a green, turquoise sparkly colour, that fills the bath with sparkles and bold pretty colours. Not only that, little gold stars float around in the bath, making it feel magical.

The scent is more of a citrus scent, and although they aren't my favourite, the smells of orange, lime and cognac are very relaxing. They leave your skin feeling smooth, relaxed and calm.

The overall sight of the bomb is so pretty, and for only £3.95, it is a great relaxing bath bomb that soothes the skin and makes you feel magical.

Personally after using it, this is one of my favourite bath bombs along with Butterbear and Ickle Baby Bot. Although you can only get this round Christmas time, I would definitely recommend it and would love to use one again.

Mini Romford Haul

Hey Guys!

Yay, it's half term! For once I actually have some time to sit down, and write a proper blogpost. So since it's the half term, along with other things, I went on a big shop to Romford as I hadn't been for ages, and had a bit of money to spend. There are a fair few sales on at the moment, so I managed to get some good things! This is a bit more of a chatty post, but here are a few of the things I got...

Firstly, a while ago I got a new bag from Primark that was a great size and quite casual, as my old one broke, and was also a bit too small. However my purse was a bit on the small side for that bag and was a fairly old one, and I decided that I wanted a new one. So I went off to Primark, as I had seen some in there before, however they did not match and weren't what I was looking for. But yesterday, I found this one that was a great size and matched my bag. I only payed £6 for it which I thought wasn't too bad!

Whilst I was also in Primark, I went to look at all the bits and bobs that are good for presents. It is my friends birthday soon so I had a look and managed to pick up some good things, along with some really pretty gift bags. For only 90p for a pack of two was quite good, and they all ranged in sizes and patterns. I went for the butterfly pack in pretty colours. These can be so helpful when you have more than one present for someone!

Next, I went on to some other shops and bought a really pretty piece of jewellery in the Accessorize sale, along with a pale pink Nail Polish that was also in the sale. Accessorize do some really lovely products and are great for lots of things.

I then went on to Superdrug, as I was in need of new makeup wipes, as the ones I use to use didn't really help my skin, so I wanted to try some new ones. So I went to look at the Simple range and picked up the Limited Edition Kind to Skin makeup wipes which are linked here. They are supposed to refresh and moisturise the skin, and are good for sensitive skin, which I have. I also bought some body spray by Superdrug own brand as I wanted to try these out. So I picked two up in the scent Tease and Devotion, so can't wait to try them out.

Next, I was in need of stationery supplies for school, because that's what happens when your ruler goes wonky, and your pens run out, and someone steals your rubber! So I bought a new rubber, a pack of pens and a new ruler. So I now have everything I need!

I was really hot and wanted a drink and a snack! So I bought a bottle of Smart Water, which is supposed to be different. but to be honest, I don't see one! I also bought some Coconut chips from Primark. They are packed with nutrients and great for an energy boost and fuel. Not only that, they are a great healthy alternative to greasy potato chips!

That's all I bought on my little shopping trip! Let me know if you like this kind of post and any other posts you might want to see in the future!

Be the Best Version of You...

Hey Guys!

Sorry that I didn't post last week. I had the Hairspray Show last week along with other events at school, and homework, so I didn't actually have any time to write anything! So here I am this week, giving you a quick update and some motivational quotes to keep you going...

Hairspray was so much fun and I enjoyed it so much. I enjoyed playing the role of Lou-Ann and having fun with all the other characters, dancing and singing. It took up so much of my time however it was definitely worth it! On top of all this there is always homework to do and life to get on with! So trying to come up with ideas and actually having the time to write a post was really hard.

I am also in the process of possibly re-decorating me bedroom, so we took off on a trip to Bluewater on a hunt for duvets and curtains in the colour I actually wanted, which was proving to be difficult because of the colour I chose! However in the end we managed to find a duvet and some curtains, along with some other bits too!

Keeping up with everything can be really tough, so here are three motivational quotes that can keep you going through the week before it gets to half term!

Chocolate Smartie Flapjacks!

Hey Guys!

Hope you have had a good week and that you are not to stressed out and that you are keeping healthy skin (see what I did there!) This week I decided that I hadn't done a baking post for quite a while, however I wasn't quite sure what to bake. So I took to Tanya Burr's 'Love Tanya' book for inspiration. I wanted something fairly quick and easy, so I found the 'Smarties Flapjacks', however I have added something extra as you might be able to tell by the name of my post. So here is how to make Chocolate Smartie Flapjacks...

For these Flapjacks you will need:

  • 125g Butter
  • 125g Sugar
  • 6 tablespoons of Golden Syrup
  • 250g Porridge Oats
  • A tube of Smarties
  • Some form of Chocolate to melt (I used Chocolate Coins leftover from Christmas!)

Step 1 - Preheat you oven to 180oC.

Step 2 - Melt the butter in a medium pan over a low heat. Add the golden syrup and sugar to the butter and heat gently.

Step 3 - Once the sugar is dissolved and the butter is melted, remove the pan from the heat and stir in the porridge oats and smarties. (I crushed the smarties, however you can put them in whole.)

Step 4 - Put the flapjack mixture into a baking tin and squash down.

Step 5 - Bake in the oven for 20 minutes and once out, leave to cool.

Step 6 - Once cooled, cut into squares and leave them to set and cool.

Step 7 - Melt some chocolate in the microwave until it is runny. Use the end of a spoon to drizzle this over the pieces that you have cut.

Step 8 - Crush up the last of the smarties and sprinkle them over the top of the melted chocolate that is on the pieces of flapjack.

You have finished your flapjacks!

Hope that you enjoy making them. Leave down in the comments if you tried them or recommended them!

Tips to having Healthy Skin

Hey Guys!

It seems to be getting quite cold so I thought looking after your skin can be a massive issue when it's cols. Even I struggle to be bothered with moisturising or drinking water, but all these can mean that you keep healthy skin hydrated and looked-after.

1) Drinking lots of water

I know that this can sound quite obvious, but actually drinking a lot of water can help your skin as well as your head. Firstly, it won't give you headaches, but it also keeps you hydrated and fresh. One of my new years resolutions is to actually drink more water, as I always get headaches or have bad skin, but am just forgetting to drink. The troubles of being a girl! Try to drink up to 2 litres, but if that is too much, try 1 to start with.

2) Using lukewarm water

Although people like to shower in hot water or have boiling hot baths, apparently lukewarm water is much better for you. This is because it doesn't take all the helpful oils away that are sometimes needed, keeping your skin just with the oils you need. Try to balance out the heat with a mix of hot and cold to even it up a little.

3) Cleansing and Moisturising

A great way to keep your skin clean is to use a cleanser or exfoliater to get rid of any dead skin cells and to keep your skin clean and refreshed. I am using Clean and Clear Exfoliating Daily Wash and Dual Action Moisturiser. It is free from oil and helps get rid of anything nasty, and refreshes the skin. Try using it once in the morning and the evening to make sure it is helping.

4) Get lots of sleep

The most important thing for your skin is that it gets the rest it needs. For a teenager, they should be getting 8-10 hours to feel fresh and awake, as well as to let your skin have a rest and be free. Although people don't always like sleeping, it can actually be really good for you. Try setting yourself a challenge to sleep for longer than usual or go to sleep earlier! A nice comfy bed might help too...

Enjoy your week, and let me know if any of these help and f there are any posts you want me to do.
