Games, Games and more Games

Hey Guys!

It's Day 4, and I should probably think you might be getting a bit bored, so games are always a great option to play and have lots of fun with! I'm going to be suggesting loads of games you can play, some which have been around for a long time, and some autumnal versions. Abi will be talking about films so head over and check those out too.  By the way these pictures aren't ours as we didn't have much time to play games, but you can still get the idea of what the game is about. So let's get started...

 1) Truth Or Dare

Now this is such a classic, but probably the most annoying. I always find it so hard to come up with questions, so an app might be good to download, otherwise you sit there forever and don't actually do anything. You can probably find some on the internet, or even try to make some up before hand so they are ready for you to play. You can do it any way you want, however I have found this way and it looks more interesting and fun.

2) Would you rather?

What another classic game. This one just frustrates me because I never know what to answer. Then someone else will answer and give an opinion and I think maybe I should change my answer! However if you are stuck for questions, you can go back to my Would You Rather blogpost which is linked here. Abi and I had so much fun talking about it and arguing and coming up with opinions, so this is definitely on to try out if you are bored.

3) Yoga

This is a great one to try, because everyone always messes about and it is actually such a challenge to do this. Just go on to the internet and pick out some positions that you could try and copy. Whether you get there in the end or not doesn't matter, it's just the fun that counts. What a great idea! If you can't actually do them, make gingerbread yoga positions instead!

4) Apple Bobbing

Now this is an extra game that you don't actually have to do. But if you are doing a Halloween themed sleepover, then this can be a great idea for that. All you will need would be a bowl of water and some apples and you are ready to play. Whether it be Halloween or not, this game is great, fun and also messy!

Hope you enjoy playing some of these games and have lots of fun with your friends.

DIY Message In A Bottle

Hey Guys!

It's Day 3 of our sleepover madness, and for something to keep you occupied, we thought a DIY would be the best idea. So I made a message in a bottle that you can make for eachother, and Abi has done a beauty related thing. Hope you enjoy making these. You might need to buy a few of these things as they won't necessarily be things lying round your house, but to make these, they only really cost about £2! You can copy these, or make them your own, the choice is yours...

For this DIY you will need:
  • A piece of paper,
  • Scissors,
  • Jars (which I got from The Works),
  • Glitter,
  • Sharpies,
  • Washi tape,
  • Anything else you want.

Step 1 - Grab all your sharpies and decide which colours you are going to chose. We stuck with favourite colours and ones that matched together well.

Step 2 - Start doodling! Cut a small strip of paper into a 2cm by 12cm rectangle. Draw pretty flowers or squiggles, but leave space for a message in the middle.  Maybe make it a message for when they are sad and need a motivational message.

Step 3 - Add Washi Tape round the bottle if you want to and sprinkle glitter inside the bottle.

Step 4 - Wrap up the paper and you might want to secure it (we didn't and we couldn't get the message back out!). Place the cork back on the jar and you are done!

Hope you had fun creating and swapping these with your friends.

Sleepover Goodies

Hey Guys!

It's snack time at your sleepover and you are getting thirsty and hungry at the same time! What do you want? The Best Hot Chocolate Ever! So I am going to show you how to make this and Abi is going to show you how to make a sort of snack, but I'll leave that to her to explain.

For the Best Hot Chocolate ever you are going to need:
  • Any sort of hot chocolate powder, but we chose Aero,
  • Milk,
  • Spoon,
  • Mugs,
  • Marshmallows,
  • Squirty Cream,
  • Flake.

Step 1 - Place a mug full of milk into your mugs and make sure they are even but aren't to full that they explode or spill! Place them in the microwave and heat for two minutes. If they aren't hot enough then keep heating until they are.

Step 2 - Bring your hot milk over to the table where the ingredients are. Then using a spoon, place a little bit of powder and stir until a paste is made. Then add about 2-3 teaspoons of hot chocolate powder until it makes the consistency you want.

Step 3 - Get your whipped cream and squirt. Use as much as you like or as little as you want. However if it's a new one, make sure you split the top so that it actually squirts because we took forever trying to do this!

Step 4 - Place marshmallows, flake, more whipped cream, a sprinkle of powder and maybe some leftover digestive biscuit. Whatever you want really!

Abi and I had so much fun making these and they were delicious afterwards, especially with our snack as well. Hope you enjoy making these!

Autumnal Quote Poster

Hey Guys!

So, it's starting to turn into autumn :) and all the leaves are turning yellow and our rooms are in need of autumnal decoration. Woah that was a mouthful! So I decided to do a DIY as I hadn't done one for a while, and I thought it would be perfect for this month. Just wait for loads more to come...

For this DIY you will need:
- Some white card or any colour you want,
- Glue,
- Scissors,
- Washi tape (if you want),
- Glitter,
- Leaves from anywhere,
- Autumnal color sharpies.

Step 1 - Stick your leaves anywhere on your page. Place them near eachother so that you have room to write a quote later on.

Step 2 - Place more glue on top of your leaves and go crazy with glitter! Put as much or as little as you want and get rid of excess glitter after. As you can see, I got it everywhere!

Step 3 - If you want to, add washi tape that has an autumnal colour. it can go where you want and can add a border or can be used to make little symbols.

Step 4 - Find an autumnal quote online. I chose 'Comfy sweaters, warm drinks and pretty colours. I love autumn.'

Step 5 - Write out this quote onto your card where you left your space using autumnal colours (red, orange, yellow, brown) and decorate how you want.

This is how mine turned out, and I might see about putting it somewhere in my room. Hope you try this and let me know how it worked in the comments below.

The week ahead...

Hey Guys!
The wait is over! It's half term! So, over these next coming days, Abi and I are going to be doing a collab. We will both have the same topic on each day so if you click on her name, you can check hers out as well. Abi and I had a sleepover about a week ago and we really enjoyed it, so we thought we would share a few ideas with you. We started today so that you have time at the end of the week to have a sleepover, so if you have time, try some of these and let us know how it goes in the comments below.

The theme for the week is... How to have the Best Autumnal Sleepover!

During the week, we will be showing you how to have the best snacks, and how to keep warm, with basically, all you need to know about sleepovers...

To start off, you're going to need to make sure that you pack everything and have everything that you need. The main things will be something to sleep on/with - so ideally lots of blankets and snuggles and all things cosy. You will also need things to make these DIYs and everything else so make sure you pop to the shops and get it all before, so you are ready and prepared.

But most of all, you are going to need some friends to have it with, otherwise how boring would that be! So you need to invite friends that you haven't had a fall out with, ones who you trust (who knows what might get said at the party) and friends that you know you will have  a great laugh with.

So hope you enjoy this week ahead and get an idea of how to have the best sleepover! One last thing, don't forget your toothbrush like Abi does, because she always ends up using yours or leaving it behind!

Autumn Walks

Hey Guys!

Well since it really is becoming Autumn, I enjoyed a walk at the weekend, and managed to take some really nice pictures, all with pretty colours and it just felt so nice...

As I took loads of pictures, I decided to blend some together using an app and post it on my Instagram.

I wrapped uo really warm, with my flannel shirt, leggings and a scarf and warm coat. I put on my wellie socks, and of course, my wellington boots! I just love wearing these, especially as mine have autumnal colours...

Lastly, I got my phone amd off I went. Here are some of the pictures I took...

I just love autumn, and I think I have decided that it is my favourite season. I hope they inspire you to go on more walks and to take some pretty pictures and explore with editing them, which is what I did.

Hope you have  a great week...

Keeping cosy with films

Hey Guys!

So since it's Autumn, I have been all snuggled up and have enjoyed watching some films. Now, I'm not a massive fan of films as I can't really stay still for long, however a good film definitely hooks me in. But with the weather being so cold, I think getting on your PJs and dressing gown, sitting down with a cup of tea and watching films can really keep me occupied and cosy! So here are a couple of films I have watched recently and would really recommend...

1) The Fault In Our Stars

The Fault in Our Stars tells the story of Hazel Grace Lancaster (Shailene Woodley) and Augustus Waters (Ansel Elgort), who fall hopelessly in love after meeting in a cancer support group, and experience a whirlwind romance that teaches them both what it means to feel truly alive.

So on Friday last week, I went to Abi's and we had a special sleepover so we could plan something very special that is coming up. In the evening, we snuggled up and we watched The Fault In Our Stars, and honestly, even on the second time I nearly cried! I really like this film and I really recommend watching it and reading the book as well. I must admit though, the book is definitely quite different to the film, so can be a bit confusing at some times. However both are as good and I really enjoyed watching it again.

2) Hairspray

Tracy Turnblad, an overweight high-school student whose only dream is to be on a local Baltimore teen dance program. While her father (Christopher Walken) tells her to follow her dreams, her mother Edna (John Travolta in drag) reminds her that she doesn't look like the girls on that show. After impressing the show's host (James Marsden), Tracy earns a spot on the program, but when she becomes a popular addition to the cast, she earns the wrath of the prettiest girl in school - a girl whose mother (Michelle Pfeiffer) just happens to operate the local television station. Tracy's visit to detention hall opens her eyes to the racial tension on the show, as does the budding relationship between her best friend (Amanda Bynes) and an African-American boy named Seaweed (Elijah Kelley). Thus empowered, Tracy attempts to integrate the races on her favorite program.

So every year at school, we do a production, and this year it happened to be Hairspray. We auditioned a couple of weeks ago and I am Lou-Ann and understudy for Tracy. I can't wait to rehearse more and more and see the show come together as I think it will be a really fun production to do and will be interesting to see how it all actually comes together. I really like this film as it is really upbeat and interesting.

Hope these two films can be ideas that you can watch and ones that you can also enjoy! Have a cosy week...
