A Day At John Lewis Oxford Street

Hey Guys!

I can't believe it is already a week after Christmas and that it is the New Year. But yesterday, Abi and I, as well as our families went up into London. We went to the Olympic Park and walked around, but when it got dark we went over to John Lewis in Oxford Street. Due to the new advert with the man on the moon, they have made their roof terrace into a winter wonderland. There are loads of trees and fake snow, surrounded by balconies and fairy lights.

We arrived before it started to get really dark, however it was really pretty to see the sun set. I took loads of pictures and had so much fun walking around still feeling really Christmassy. It allowed us to take some time out and have loads of fun.

There were three snugs that you could sit in. Seeing as there were eight of us, we managed to grab one called 'Midwinter Snug' as well as some hot chocolate! It was lit with fairy lights and a huge light up 'NOEL' was behind us, as well as lots of other decorations. We managed to take some really pretty pictures at lots of opportunities.

As I took loads of pictures, I decided that I could use some editing skills and apps to create some different, interesting pictures, and get creative! When we were waiting for our dinner, I edited some pictures. I used an app called Super Impose, which allows you to put two different pictures together, add filters and make them transparent. I made two and put one of them on my Instagram. I am not sure which one I prefer, however some worked better than others.

I hope that you have a great week and a Happy New Year!

Realaxing on Christmas Eve

Hey Guys!

Merry Christmas Eve! I can't believe that it's already Christmas, it doesn't feel like it at all! Today I thought I might share with you what I do on Christmas Eve before tomorrow! So sit back, relax, and enjoy sharing with me what you do too...

I like to start off by making sure that my room is decorated, to bring some more vibes to my room. The other day I was out and found some pink tinsel that matches my room and decided to get some that I could place on my wire. It adds some more colour and stretches a long way.

I also like to put on some fairy lights both on my tree, as they add a lot of light and make some pretty pictures, but also in the living room where I hang my stocking as well.

I then like to have a nice bath where I can use some Christmas shower gel and a lush bath bomb/bubble bar. I received some shower gel for Christmas from my friend, and so I used the 'Spiced Cinnamon.' It gives off such a strong smell but definitely smells of Christmas...

I then got a load of bath bombs for my birthday recently and one of them was the 'Candy Mountain bubble bar.' It's quite sickly but creates lots of bubbles making you all smooth and relaxed.

Lastly, I like to end my Christmas Eve by getting into my cosy pyjamas and watching a Christmas film. This year my favourite has to be 'Nativity' as it is so funny and interesting. However another traditional Christmas film is 'The Snowman.'

Hope you have a great Christmas and that you get what you want and have lots of fun.

Christmas Ideas?

Hey Guys!

I wasn't quite sure what to write about today, but I thought maybe something short and cute would be a good idea. In the end, I decided I would go for a quote, but this isn't just an ordinary quote, it's one that needs a bit of thinking about!
This is more of a wordle, however I think it was an interesting on to talk about. Not only does it remind people of Christmas, but it also shows what goes on. It puts across a thought of how many feelings can be put across at Christmas, however people don't always think about these.

You would think that people would think of presents, however these are other happy things that are left behind. Just think, are you bringing joy at Christmas through your family or hugs and kisses.

One to think about!

Photo Booth Frenzy

Hey Guys!

So it was my birthday at the weekend and I had a party with all my friends. I decided that I had too many to have a sleepover, so in the end I opted for a movie theme. One of the things we did was have a photo booth. I am going to tell you the steps to create the best photo booth for any occasion.

Firstly you need to create a backdrop. We just used a bed sheet that was dark so that our faces could be seen. Any colour will do however we went for red.

Another thing you can do is get a big frame. We bought a set that came with a frame and props that we put on card and held. A frame can really add effect to the picture and bring out the fun in what you are doing.

Lastly is the props. What would a photo booth be without props?? Glasses on sticks, wigs you name it anything will work! Buy some sticks and card and even make your own?! You can buy wigs and props from pretty much anywhere. Get creative!

However you do it is up to you. Just have fun...

Christmas Present Ideas

Hey Guys!

It's December! How exciting is that? Even more so because it's my birthday in 3 days too!! So Christmas is rapidly approaching and everyone is rushing to get presents, especially for their friends.
Here are a few cheap and cute easy ideas that you can do or get for your friends...

1) Secret Santa

This is always a fun one and is always a great idea if you have a large group of friends. There are many things you can get such as chocolate, however more fun and unique ideas are better. Maybe some Christmas puppets or some glasses? The choice is yours. Go creative and wild...

2) Chocolate

Now who doesn't like chocolate? This is really easy to find and a wide range can be bought and shared. How about adding some chocolate to a cute little present like a nail polish or maybe doing a chocolate bundle!

3) Something your own

This way it is unique and special to the person. You can make anything from cookies to a tree decoration. Make your presents you. There are many ideas you can get from Pinterest or Instagram. Get the ideas spilling and have fun.

4) Christmas cards

Even just a little card can show your apreciation at Christmas. Maybe even make your own and add a personalised style or add a secret chocolate coin inside!!

Hope these give you some ideas on what you can get your friends this Christmas.

Have a great week...

Ways to keep cosy in Winter...

Hey Guys!

It's been so cold this week, so I am going to show you some ways you can keep cosy. There are many ways, such as cosy pyjamas or slippers, but I went for some more interesting ideas. Share with me if you tried some out. I also enjoy photography and editing, so some of these pictures have been played around with!

1) Taking pictures of sunrises and sunsets.

There are many reasons why taking pictures of
sunsets can be so pretty and cosy. For starters, when it's really cold, to be honest a sunrise is quite nice, compared to wind.

I took some from my window and at school, as they made me feel warm and cosy when I was cold.

  2) Making a cosy corner on your bed.

Add some cushions and blankets to the corner of your bed, snuggle up and maybe add some fairy lights to make it effective. Maybe watch a film, or read a book, the decision is yours.

3) Gingerbread Cookies

A touch of baking can add some fun to your winter and can leave you feeling scrumptious.

4) Candles

Candles are so pretty and can always keep you warm. Some have scents, some don't. But lighting them and taking lots of pictures can be so comforting, as well as the smell when you blow them out!

There are many ways you can keep cosy in winter, and these are only some of them. Hope you have a great week and a cosy winter.

Peanut Butter Chocolate Cookies

Hey Guys!

It's my first ever baking video on my blog and I can't wait to share these with you. To be honest, I hadn't actually tried them before but I liked the look of them so I thought I would share this recipe with you.

For these cookies you will need:
1 Cup Unsalted Butter
1 Cup Peanut Butter
1 Cup Granulated Sugar
1 Cup Brown Sugar
2 Large Eggs
2 Cups All-Purpose Flour
1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
1 Cup Chocolate Chips

For the equipment you will need:
2 Baking Trays Lined
A Bowl
A Wooden Spoon
A Whisk
Scales

1) Cream the butter until smooth.

2) Add the peanut butter and both of the sugars until they are all combined together.

3) Add the egg after beating them and mix it all in. Don't worry if your mixture splits, the flour will help it after.

4) Sieve the flour and mix it in along with the baking soda until well combined.

5) Stir in the chocolate chips. Your mixture should end up something like this.

6) Scoop little bits onto the tray and leave a bit of a gap between. Place in the oven for about 15 minutes or until they are cooked. Even if they are soft take them out and they will harden up.

My cookies came out in weird shapes as I didn't spread them out enough. However they still tasted really nice and I would really recommend them.

DIY Leaf Stamp Tree

Hey Guys!

I decided that I would do a DIY this week, as I haven't really done one for a while. I must admit that they are all autumn related at the moment but to be honest, they will change as it gets later in the year. This DIY is how to make a leaf stamp and how to use it to make a picture of a tree. So, let's get started.

For this DIY you are going to need:

- Some card or paper,
- A black sharpie and possibly brown,
- A potato,
- A knife,
- A paintbrush and
- Some paint the colour of your choice.

Step 1 - Cut out your shapes into your potatoes. You can make them any size or shape, but don't make them too complicated or big.

Step 2 - Draw a trunk to your tree. Place some paint onto your stamp and start stamping, I decided that I would make a base with larger leaf in a lighter colour, so I placed them all over the paper so that I could make the shape of a tree.

Step 3 - Start layering up your tree using a different colour and possibly a smaller leaf. This will add more effect and make it look more like a tree. You can also put some underneath the tree so that it looks like some leaves are falling.

Step 4 - You are finished. You can make any other picture you want. Personally, I like the tree, however you can make a flower.

Hope you can have your own try at making these, let me know in the comments below.

Quotes To Keep You Going

Hey Guys!

So I thought it's back to school time and we all need a bit of motivation to keep going! I went to Lakeside last week and I went to Paperchase and I bought a couple of postcards with some inspiring creative quotes on them. I thought I would share them with you and talk a little bit about them.

Dream It Believe It Achieve It

I love this quote so much and I think it is one of my favourites. It always helps me when I am performing or thinking about the future. I go to a theatre school, so this quote really relates to that and keeps me aspiring to this.

When Nothing Goes Right Go Left

This quote is always helpful when you are having a bad day. If nothing is going right for you, always look at the other side and take the other direction until you get it right.

Be Your Own Kind Of Beautiful

This is true. No matter who you are, love who you are. Be whoever you want to be and don't let anyone put you down. Do what it takes to make you happy.

I really think these quotes can really change your day and make it a whole lot better. Hope this makes your week better. Always look at these quotes when you need them.

Games, Games and more Games

Hey Guys!

It's Day 4, and I should probably think you might be getting a bit bored, so games are always a great option to play and have lots of fun with! I'm going to be suggesting loads of games you can play, some which have been around for a long time, and some autumnal versions. Abi will be talking about films so head over and check those out too.  By the way these pictures aren't ours as we didn't have much time to play games, but you can still get the idea of what the game is about. So let's get started...

 1) Truth Or Dare

Now this is such a classic, but probably the most annoying. I always find it so hard to come up with questions, so an app might be good to download, otherwise you sit there forever and don't actually do anything. You can probably find some on the internet, or even try to make some up before hand so they are ready for you to play. You can do it any way you want, however I have found this way and it looks more interesting and fun.

2) Would you rather?

What another classic game. This one just frustrates me because I never know what to answer. Then someone else will answer and give an opinion and I think maybe I should change my answer! However if you are stuck for questions, you can go back to my Would You Rather blogpost which is linked here. Abi and I had so much fun talking about it and arguing and coming up with opinions, so this is definitely on to try out if you are bored.

3) Yoga

This is a great one to try, because everyone always messes about and it is actually such a challenge to do this. Just go on to the internet and pick out some positions that you could try and copy. Whether you get there in the end or not doesn't matter, it's just the fun that counts. What a great idea! If you can't actually do them, make gingerbread yoga positions instead!

4) Apple Bobbing

Now this is an extra game that you don't actually have to do. But if you are doing a Halloween themed sleepover, then this can be a great idea for that. All you will need would be a bowl of water and some apples and you are ready to play. Whether it be Halloween or not, this game is great, fun and also messy!

Hope you enjoy playing some of these games and have lots of fun with your friends.
